Enter results for a race day
This article covers how to record finishing positions for the races on a single race day. To mark a sailor with a code such as DNF instead of a position, see Apply a scoring code. To make results visible to sailors once you have entered them, see Publish results.
Access. You need the Admin, Official, or Race Officer permission on the club running the event. (The old Scorer role is now the Race Officer permission.)
Open the race day
- Open the event.
- Select the race day you want to score.
This opens the Race Day Results screen for that day. It has tabs across the top: Overview, Sign-ons, Entry, Results, Race Reports, and Publish. The header shows the event name, the date, and the current results status.
Open the Entry tab
Select the Entry tab. If the day has more than one race, a row of sub-tabs appears (Race 1, Race 2, and so on), with Add Race at the end. Choose the race you want to score first.

The screen has two parts:
- On the left, the entry panel, headed Race 1 Results Entry (or the race you chose).
- On the right, the list of results entered so far, with a column for the sailor's Position, Skipper, Sail Number, and Status.
Record a finish
For each boat, working down the finish order:
- In the entry panel, use the Search by name or sail number box to find the sailor.
- Enter their finishing place in Position. This is the order they crossed the line.
- Leave Status on Normal for a boat that finished the race normally. To record a code instead, see Apply a scoring code.
- Add a Note if you need to. This is optional.
- Select Add to add the boat to the pending list (Step 1).
- Repeat for each boat.
When you have added the finishers, select Save Now to save them all to the results (Step 2). You can also press Ctrl-Enter (or Cmd-Enter) to save.
The boats you saved appear in the list on the right, in finishing order.
Fix a result
In the results list on the right, each row has two buttons:
- The pencil edits the result. Use it to change a position, status, or note.
- The bin deletes the result.
If a position is missing or used twice, an Ordering issues detected notice appears above the list, naming the missing or duplicated places. Select Reorder List to renumber the finishers cleanly.
Enter the next race
If the day had more than one race, select the next race's sub-tab (for example Race 2) and repeat. Each race is scored on its own.
What happens next
Entering results does not make them visible to sailors. Results stay in Draft until you publish them. When the day is scored, move on to Publish results.
